PORTSMOUTH — Two Portsmouth space faculty college students had been offered $500 scholarships by Commandant, Geoff Corson, on the Seacoast  Marine’s Detachment’s  picnic on Aug. 20, on New Fortress Island’s Coast Guard Station.

Mary Lombardi, daughter of George and Carol Lombardi, of Kittery, Maine, is a sophomore Biomedical Engineering scholar at Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Worcester, Massachusetts. Her purpose is to supply mass customizable implants for sufferers who’ve extensively divergent medical points. Her plans are to hunt employment  as a biomedical engineer working with prosthetic firms and different specialties of biomedical engineering.

Katelyn Russell, from Barrington, N.H., is the daughter of Kevin and Terri Russell of Barrington and the granddaughter of Ray and Lee Maher of Hampton.
