Amsterdam’s Schiphol airport has opened a brand new co-working and assembly house as a part of a challenge to redevelop its Departures 1 Lounge.

The Areas Lounge, a part of the airport’s ongoing collaboration with workplace house supplier IWG, options six “fully-equipped” work areas with capability for greater than 100 individuals, 4 assembly rooms and an adjoining restaurant.

Situated above the airport’s Departure Corridor 1, the workplaces and assembly house may be booked “for a charge” and are open to the general public (not restricted to departing travellers).

Catering associate, HMSHost Nederland, will present foods and drinks choices at each Areas Lounge and the close by Panorama Restaurant, which the airport can be positioning as “an accessible assembly place”.

“With the return of enterprise travellers, we noticed the demand for airport amenities change,” stated HMSHost Europe regional managing director, Sytze van der Aa.

IWG Benelux regional vp, Gavin Phillips, added the corporate has seen a “rising buyer demand” for versatile workspaces at airports and practice stations.

The brand new lounge at Schiphol is a part of IWG’s plan to open “not less than 200 new flex workplaces within the Netherlands over the approaching 5 years,” in accordance with Phillips, and is the second co-working house on the airport, becoming a member of Areas Schiphol Airport, the place IWG collaborated with Microsoft.
