Flybe is to begin new UK home routes from Newcastle Worldwide to each London Heathrow and Belfast Metropolis airports.
The 2 routes will each begin from 7 November with seven companies per week to Belfast and flights to Heathrow working from Monday to Friday.
Birmingham-based Flybe, which resumed flights earlier this year, already flies from Manchester and Glasgow, and the addition of Newcastle expands its presence within the north of the UK.
Dave Pflieger, Flybe’s CEO stated: “There’s a clear want for competitors on the London-Newcastle route, as this can be a route that has robust demand from enterprise prospects.”
Newcastle has been additional boosted by Ryanair’s new twice-weekly service to Barcelona, which began on 1 November. The price range service opened a new base at the airport earlier this yr.
Emirates can be stepping up its operations from Newcastle this winter, with flights to Dubai set to extend from the present 5 per week to a day by day departure from 1 December.
