WHEREAS, Julie Schmitz Jensen has been a tireless advocate for the journey and tourism trade because the late Nineteen Seventies when she started her customer trade profession within the administration of Governor Richard Kneip; and
WHEREAS, Julie’s profession within the tourism and journey trade has included stints in Pierre, Sioux Falls and twice in Speedy Metropolis, the latter leading to greater than 20 years of mixed service selling native and space journey and tourism-related companies and people; and
WHEREAS, Native tourism and journey companies – from generational family-owned entities to new start-up experiences – couldn’t discover a stronger advocate in creating, selling and advertising and marketing the customer expertise in Speedy Metropolis, the Black Hills and South Dakota, than Julie; and
WHEREAS, Julie served as govt director of the Speedy Metropolis Conference and Guests Bureau from 1983 to 1997; left to boost her household, then returned in 2014 to usher in a brand new period for the native customer expertise, overseeing the rebranding of the Conference and Guests Bureau as Go to Speedy Metropolis; and
