A hearth in fallow fields close to Kapalua Airport burned about 50 acres of brush earlier than it was contained and extinguished Friday morning.
The Maui Hearth Division reported points with entry and terrain in combating the hearth reported at 2:59 p.m. Thursday. The hearth was contained by 7 a.m. Friday and extinguished at 10 a.m.
No accidents or damages had been reported.
