WASHINGTON, D.C. – At present, the U.S. Division of Power (DOE) introduced $15 million in funding for primary analysis to discover doubtlessly high-impact approaches in scientific computing and extreme-scale science. The initiatives will tackle disruptive know-how adjustments from rising traits in high-end computing, large datasets, artificial intelligence, and more and more heterogeneous architectures akin to neuromorphic and quantum computing programs.

The 22 initiatives have been chosen by aggressive peer assessment underneath the DOE Funding Alternative Announcement for “EXPRESS: 2022 Exploratory Analysis for Excessive-Scale Science,” sponsored by the Workplace of Superior Scientific Computing Analysis throughout the Division’s Workplace of Science.
