Les Allamby joins council of UK charity JUSTICE

Les Allamby, former chief commissioner of the Northern Eire Human Rights Fee (NIHRC), has joined JUSTICE as a council member.

The UK-wide charity appointed a lot of new board and council members following its sixty fifth AGM on Wednesday.

Becoming a member of the board of trustees are I. Stephanie Boyce, previous president of the Regulation Society of England and Wales; Sara Mansoori KC of Matrix Chambers; Alice Smith, trustee at Astriid and Christian Weaver of Backyard Court docket North Chambers.

Mr Allamby is joined on the charity’s council by Axiom Advocates’ Almira Delibegović-Broome KC; Amanda Finlay CBE, chair of Regulation for Life; Saima Hanif KC, of three Verulam Buildings; Alexandra Marks CBE, recorder and deputy Excessive Court docket decide and retired companion at Linklaters LLP; Kathleen Russ, of Travers Smith LLP and Maryann McMahon, former head of litigation for the Europe, Center East and Africa (EMEA) areas at Morgan Stanley.

JUSTICE’s chief govt, Fiona Rutherford, mentioned: “As a UK-wide charity, it’s critical that our governance and membership displays the breadth of the justice sector and stretches throughout and represents the entire of the UK.

“We’re thrilled to welcome our new board and council members, who convey with them expertise from quite a lot of careers and jurisdictions, with experience which can enrichen and inform our work. I look ahead to working with all of them.”
