HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – Agriculture Secretary Russell Redding on Monday introduced $1.5 million in awards to varsities and agriculture education schemes by the PA Farm Invoice 2022-23 Farm to College and Agriculture and Youth Grant Applications.
Almost $1 million in Agriculture and Youth grants had been awarded to youth organizations to advertise improvement in areas of agriculture, neighborhood management, vocational coaching, and peer fellowship.
Almost $536,000 in Farm to School grants had been awarded to enhance entry to wholesome, native meals and improve agriculture schooling alternatives for youngsters from pre-kindergarten by fifth grade.
“Younger persons are the way forward for Pennsylvania agriculture and their academics, applications, discipline journeys, and entry to contemporary meals body their relationship with and understanding of ag,” stated Redding. “This $1.5 million will spark new pursuits in farming by connecting college students to agriculture schooling, whereas additionally bettering entry to nutritious meals.”
