NORTH BAY VILLAGE, Fla. – Two dad and mom’ lives have been torn aside Monday after their son was shot and killed by his girlfriend’s ex in North Bay Village.
Forty-one-year-old Jose Arinbar-Camacho is accused of shooting and killing 28-year-old Banner Vidal and wounding Brittany Springmyer, whom Arinbar-Camacho shares a daughter with.
Vidal and Springmyer had not too long ago moved in collectively to Springmyer’s North Bay Village house, Vidal’s dad and mom, Jorge and Belkys, mentioned.
“(He was) very proud of the girlfriend,” Jorge Vidal mentioned in an interview with Native 10 Information Wednesday. “He advised me ‘I (discovered) the woman. The woman (has) a child.”
Police mentioned Arinbar-Camacho advised detectives he was offended Springmyer had discovered a brand new companion.
“He (shot) him within the head, my son. And he (shot) him within the physique,” Jorge Vidal mentioned. “And he (shot) the woman within the abdomen.”
In keeping with a police report, Arinbar-Camacho “arrived on the victims’ house over two hours previous to the murder and waited in his automobile pondering he was going to ‘take’ (Banner Vidal’s) ‘soul.’”
Springmyer’s 2-year-old daughter witnessed all of it, in keeping with members of the family.
Arinbar-Camacho’s confession to police was captured on a neighbor’s cell phone.
“I killed my ex’s dumba– boyfriend,” he advised a North Bay Village police officer in Spanish. ”I shot my girlfriend too.”
The Vidals mentioned Springmyer remains to be being cared for at Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Heart. They are saying her situation has improved and he or she’s alert.
Within the meantime, the Vidal household is struggling to return to grips with their son’s loss.
“He’s a younger man, 28 years (outdated), devoted to work. No drink, no smoke,” Jorge Vidal mentioned. “The household is destroyed, utterly.”
Arinbar-Camacho remained in jail on no bond as of Wednesday on prices of first-degree homicide, tried homicide and baby neglect.
