The decision for startups and SMEs of the Horizon 2020-funded Meals Trails challenge, which goals to develop options and tasks to enhance the sustainability of European meals programs, will likely be open till 16 February 2023
MILAN, Nov. 8, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — The Municipality of Milan, lead companion of the European challenge Food Trails, and the Italian innovation hub Cariplo Factory, launched the decision for startups and Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) with the intention of figuring out modern options to enhance the sustainability of meals programs in 11 European cities.
Profitable candidates may have the chance to develop pilot tasks throughout the 11 ‘Residing Labs’ of Meals Trails, establishing strategic alliances with a number of cities, collaborating with key stakeholders within the European meals system and innovation panorama, and assembly potential traders.
The four-year (2020-2024) Food Trails challenge, funded by the EU Horizon 2020 programme, brings collectively a consortium of 19 European companions, together with 11 cities, 3 universities and 5 organisations, led by the Municipality of Milan.
The challenge goals to assist cities in designing, creating and implementing modern, sustainable and inclusive meals insurance policies. These actions embrace the “Sustainable Food Systems – Call for Solutions“, by means of which startups and SMEs will likely be recognized within the cities taking part within the challenge reminiscent of Bergamo, Birmingham, Bordeaux Metropole, Copenhagen, Funchal, Grenoble-Alpes Metropole, Groningen, Thessaloniki, Tirana and Warsaw.
There are seven thematic areas for which startups and SMEs can apply to develop modern options and providers:
- Schooling and Coaching
- Communication and Involvement
- Decreasing Meals Waste
- Knowledge Assortment and Monitoring
- Entry to wholesome Meals and manufacturing Processes
- City agriculture and vegetable gardens
- Meals Packaging
The utility deadline is 16 February 2023. Afterwards, a technical committee – composed of Cariplo Manufacturing unit, the Municipality of Milan, the inspiration Stichting Wageningen Research and representatives of the 11 Food Trails partner cities – will consider and choose the very best purposes.
These chosen at this stage may have the chance to take part within the Matchmaking Day to be held in spring 2023. Lastly, a second part will determine the finalists who may have the chance to develop a pilot challenge inside Meals Trails.
