Billy Joel has donated $250,000 to Hurricane Ian aid through his charity, The Joel Basis.
Ian was the fifth strongest hurricane ever to hit the continental U.S. Residents of Fort Myers and Southwest Florida will profit from the donation to the Lee County Strong Hurricane Ian Relief Fund. The cash will go towards rebuilding efforts, in addition to to the native maritime group and faculty music applications.
In a press release, the Piano Man and his spouse, Alexis, word that Florida is their “winter dwelling” and that dwelling by their very own expertise with Superstorm Sandy a decade in the past has motivated them to “assist these much less lucky.”
Through the years, The Joel Basis has pledged and remodeled $7 million in charitable donations.
